Holton, Donald L. Jr.
Age 66, of Elmira, NY, passed away at home on Sunday, September 22, 2024. He was born on May 3, 1958 in Elmira, NY to the late Donald and Kathleen (Kimball) Holton Sr. Don is survived by his domestic partner, Jessica Corder; children, DJ (Jessica) Holton and Kathy (Josh) Vaughan and their mother, Kate Favata; grandchildren, Jason Holton, Zayne Waring-Wright and Joey Vaughan. Don retired as Lieutenant Watch Commander from the Southport Correctional Facility after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a long-time member of the Hershey Antique Automobile Club of America which he was very proud of. Personally, he was an avid car lover with a special affection for Fords that he shared with his parents. His favorites were Thunderbirds and convertibles. Don was well known in the automotive community having long running memberships, serving officer positions and AACA judge, managing websites, an antique car appraiser and historian. Don had a great passion for photography and he loved and supported his family throughout all their endeavors. Don will be remembered as being the type of person who always tried to help, protect and take care of others. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, September 29th from 2 to 4 pm at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow there at 4 pm with Father Richard Farrell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to theaftd.org for dementia research.
