James D. Barrett Funeral Home and Cremation

Passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on January 23, 1953, in Elmira, NY to the late Elmer T. and Marjorie E. (Cuer)Fluman. She was a 1970 graduate of Southside High School. Sandra held various jobs in the community, such as managing Sugar Creek stores, a CNA at Bethany Manor and as a Food Service worker for the Elmira City Schools. She loved spending time with her family and was always ready and willing to watch her grand and great grandchildren anytime. During her final years, her days when not with family were spent reading her hundreds of Amish books multiple times with her favorite older shows playing in the background. Her special fur-babies, Princess and Tucker Thompson, were always cuddled up beside her. Sandra is preceded in death by: her parents Elmer and Marjorie Fluman; a brother Elmer T. (Teddy)Fluman JR; and her youngest child, a daughter, Kelly Jo Thompson. She is survived by her children- Lynda Fluman (Ross), Lisa Paul, Michelle Burnham, David Thompson (Sabrina)and a special son-in-law, Victor Madera (Kelly) who took very good care of her. Her grandchildren- Brandon Fluman (Brea), Nichole Paul, Kayla Lepere, Brittany Thompson, Tyler Burnham (Katelin), Michaela Thompson, Kaitlyn Burnham (Oscar), Briannen Thompson (Jionel), and Kesley Thompson (Jelani). Her great-grandchildren- Jake Fluman, Jasmine Robinson, Au’bree Robinson, Baylor Fluman and Kaizen Mendez. Her siblings- Brenda (Bubby) Frey (her special Irish twin), Shelly Zupancic (Tom), Robert Fluman, Sue Ellen Walton, Glenda Brown (Jeff), Tara Fluman (Dan) along with many special nieces and nephews. Family and Friends are invited to viewing hours at James D. Barrett Funeral Home, 1004 Lake St. Elmira, NY 14901, Wednesday September 11, 2024, from 4pm-6pm.
